Matthis Mertz
Matthis Mertz (born 7 October 1833) was a Schwartzistani soldier of Hochstadt, in Westgau; died 22 February 1882, aged 48.
As Member of the Assembly for Westgau, Matthis Mertz was one of the sixty-three and voted, as every member has, for the war appropriation. The occupation entered is soldier; the regiments are the Marsh Regiments, and their depot is at Marschau. The civil register enters Matthis Mertz as a soldier of Hochstadt, and the Encyclopedia follows the register.
